PRECIOUS NEWBORNS

I had the wonderful privilege of having the talented Stevie Cruz from Stevie Cruz Photography take Edison’s newborn photos. I am so extremely happy with how they turned out and can’t believe how much this little ham has already changed in just two short months!
I can only imagine what I’ll be thinking looking back at these precious memories on his first  birthday thinking ‘where the heck did my baby go’. So while he is still small and will still let me, I will stay home and snuggle him ALL DAY!!!

Newborn photos were something I was looking forward to since I found out I was pregnant! Something about little naked babies and the amazing talent the photographer has to position their bodies while keeping them asleep really interested me. Stevie blew me away with her talent!
We arrived in Orange County when Edison was 10 days old to a fairly warm studio, I never would have thought to crank up the heat to keep those naked little babies warm! Makes perfect sense now. Stevie had everything prepared and ready to go. She had several white noise machines going. One large one that produced the most sound and a second near Edison’s head for more comfort. She also had a small tool that vibrated the sheet she had laid Edison on! I was in complete awe watching Stevie perform magic as I called it! She is a literal baby whisperer. How she got him to sleep and kept him asleep while transitioning poses and taking off one outfit and swaddled into the next was simply amazing!

You can tell Stevie really loves what she does. She takes those babies as if they were her own. Stevie also made it so easy for me, she had several bottles of water (you need plenty of water since you are roasting inside 🙂 and plenty of yummy treats. She also had a very comfortable lounge area with a nursing pillow to help you feel right at home.

About an hour into our session Edison had woken up. She allowed plenty of time for me to feed him before I handed him back to her. Stevie is extremely patient as you would have to be dealing with small little babes. I kept asking her how she does it, especially with twins or TRIPLETS!!!!! It takes a special kind of person, thats all i know. I also couldn’t believe how many darling outfits she had for you to choose from. Especially you mamas with baby girls! She had so many I was swooning over. Of course she had several baby boy outfits to choose from, but I preferred the naked shots!! I mean how can you say no to that cute little baby bum!!

I am so thankful Stevie was able to capture such a special time in our lives. I will cherish these photos forever and can’t wait to share them with Edison as he gets older.
