Fall is here, and October is so near!!!
As soon as October hits, I always have a huge list of things I hope to do and accomplish.
For today’s Mom Talk Monday, I narrowed down 10 of my top things I want to do with Edison this year.
Each of these 10 activities are things you can do with your toddlers and family.
What is one tradition you love doing each fall?
Go Visit a Pumpkin Patch/Farm – This is one of my very favorite Fall traditions. It really makes it feel like being present in the season. Our favorite local place to go is Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center. It’s a hidden gem for sure and absolutely charming.
Go for a Hayride – Bates Nut Farm offers hayrides, which I find a must during the Fall.
Drive to see the Fall Leave Colors – This is another favorite of mine. It’s always best to go for a sunday drive up the canyon or to the mountains and watch all the leaves start to change their color. Be sure to time this one right with where you live. It happens early Fall.
Try on Halloween costumes – I love going into Halloween stores or Target and tryin on Halloween costumes. You don’t even have to try them on, it’s just fun to see what the newest, popular costumes will be each year.
Walk through Corn Maze – Depending on the age of your kids, this can be a lot of fun, or super stressful. Although, I still find it so much fun and brings me back to all my jr. high memories.
Pick out Pumpkins and Carve them – Of course get your pumpkins at your local farm. Then go home and carve them. We skipped this the last two years, but I am so ready to do this with Edison.
Visit and Apple Orchid – Something I hope to do this year and capture a few good family shots.
Eat Apple or Pumpkin Pie – Our favorite local Fall tradition in San Diego is heading up to Julian to get Apple Pie. You can escape the heat and enjoy the cooler weather with warm apple pie.
Go to a Local Football Game – Been on our bucket list for a few years. Hoping to make it actually happen this year. It’s always a fun time, but puts you right in the fall mood.
Make and Enjoy Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies – Take time this fall to bake, bake something you love. For me it’s pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. So that’s what we will do!
