Have you ever debated about owning an Apple Watch? Or Maybe thought “Is the Apple Watch Worth It?”
I’ll be the first to admit that I was on the fence about getting one for over a year. It took a lot of convincing for me to finally pull the trigger. But I can now say that I am obsessed with my Series 4 Apple Watch and feel that it is totally worth it! Today I am sharing my top 9 favorite features of the Apple Watch and what made me love it.
Continue on below to find out my 9 favorite features on the Apple Watch Series 4. I am also sharing my favorite place to purchase watch bands, and my favorite $10 charging dock.
IS THE APPLE WATCH WORTH IT? AN HONEST REVIEW ON THE SERIES 4
I had gone back and forth several times deciding on whether or not I wanted to get an Apple watch. The idea of it seemed great, but if I am being honest, I didn’t always love the look of it. I am someone who wears a watch for the looks and prefer a nicer, all gold watch which compliment my daily outfits, so the Apple Series 4 Watch just didn’t seem like it would make the cut.
Fast forward a year later and I still kept thinking how convenient it would be to have an Apple watch. I was especially wanting something to track my heart rate while I was working out when I was pregnant. So I started to do more research and finally convinced myself that I was going to try out the Apple Watch series 4. Brandon had actually got it for me for my birthday last year and I haven’t stopped wearing it.
Again, when I first got it I only wore it with this gold mesh band here, because I was still being extra picky and wanted the watch to look nicer. After owning the watch for a year now, I can finally say that the looks don’t bother me anymore. I am more about the convenience and the practicality of the watch which are far more important.
Here 9 of my favorite features about the Apple Watch Series 4
1// Tracks Your Heart Rate
As I mentioned earlier I had gotten the watch when I was pregnant with Lucy. I really didn’t like that I couldn’t track my heart rate while I was working out. I love that you can easily select one of the workout options or create a custom one and it will track my heart rate, calories burned, and track the amount of time I worked out. Plus it’s really motivating to see the results.
2// Answer Quick Phone Calls or Send Messages
I have used this feature a lot. It is great when I don’t have my phone on me, because I have left it in the other room, and I am able to see that someone is calling all from my watch. I can quickly answer the phone call on my watch or run into the other room to grab my phone. I love that I get alerts each time I receive a text message and am able to use voice text and respond back to messages. The only problem with this is you can’t correct any misspelled words before sending. I usually just reply again saying, sorry for the errors, I am talking into my watch 🙂
3// Ping my Phone
If this isn’t a reason alone to get the Apple Watch, I don’t know what is! I am always leaving my phone in the most random places while we are home. But anytime I am wearing my watch, I can easily select the find phone feature, and my phone will then alert me with a ping sounding noise and I can immediately find my phone easily. This feature has saved me a few times. Once when Edison decided he wanted to hide my phone right before leaving the house under the couch and UNDER the rug!!!! Can you believe it. I would have never found it without this feature.
4// Connects To All Your iPhone Apps
I use this feature mostly with my Peloton app, Glow Baby breastfeeding timer app, podcast app, calendar, and email apps. Being able to check an event on the calendar quickly is a life saver. We also have it connected to our Smart Home so we can lock the house up when we leave. It was also great when Lucy was a newborn I could track how long I was feeding her by using my Glow Baby app all through my watch.
5// Reminder to Breathe
I haven’t really needed to use this feature lately, but it still is one that I find important. If you are someone who suffers from anxiety or postpartum anxiety like I did a couple months after having Lucy, having a small reminder to focus on my breathing really saved me. Anytime I would feel the anxiety coming on I would set a one minute timer and focus on my breathing. I would do it as many times as I needed to help calm me down. Most days I would walk away from the children and take a moment to myself to just breathe. It’s amazing what focusing on your breathe can do for you. I can’t even tell you how many times this has helped me.
6// Option to Set Timers
Being a mom I feel that I am constantly setting timers. Timers for time outs, quiet time, timing how long Lucy napped, timers for cooking etc. I have both the timer and stopwatch feature displayed on one of my Apple Watch faces. That way I can access them quickly.
7// Use Watch For Self Timer Photos
Believe it or not, I am constantly setting up my phone on a tripod to snap some photos of myself or me and the kids for work. This feature of being able to tap my watch and it takes a photo from my phone is a life saver! It also has a 3 second delay option too that way you have time to pose before the phone snaps a shot!
8// Customize Your Watch Face
I love that I can customize the face of my watch to fit my needs. Not only can I customize the face, but I can also have multiple face options. Just by swiping right or left on the watch face, I can have access to the new face. I currently have 4 faces on my Apple Watch. Even a Mickey Mouse one when we are at Disneyland, Edison is obsessed with it!
9// Daily Weather Forecast
Again, being a mom I am constantly checking the weather daily to see what kind of clothes I should dress the kids in. I have the weather displayed on my first Apple Watch face that was it is quick and convenient.
So yes, if you are still asking yourself Is the Apple Watch worth it, IT IS!!!!
After owning mine for a year, I love it! I feel weird when I don’t wear it and I am kind of lost without all of the amazing features that the Apple Watch Series 4 offers! I find myself flipping my arm up to look at the time even when my watch isn’t on! haha
I don’t feel like I need to upgrade to the Series 5 just yet, since my watch is still in great shape, however, I do feel like when they do a new release I may want to upgrade because I love the concept so much!
