Spring dresses are some of my favorite items of clothing I enjoy wearing during the spring season. They are so simple and fun to style, and easy to layer up for colder days. So, today I am sharing my TOP TIPS ON HOW TO STYLE A SPRING DRESS.
Because spring usually consists of a mix of warm and cold days, it’s really important to keep that in mind. Especially while finding your perfect spring dress. I typically tend to lean towards floral prints and pastel colors as those will always be in style and are classic spring dresses. However, I also love neutral colors and darker colors as those work great for spring as well. If you are in the market for a spring dress I am sharing several in every price point!

HOW TO CHOOSE A SPRING DRESS
There are so many different options for spring dresses out on the market, and quite frankly, it can get a little overwhelming. There’s a few factors I always like to take into consideration when shopping for the perfect spring dress. So I will share my top tips on how I do this! First, I try to go for something classic and timeless… something that I will be able to keep in my closet for years and won’t go out of style.
One of my favorites is going for neutrals and floral prints… you just can’t go wrong with them!
Darker colors are also great as they serve as a transition piece into spring. I love pastels, bright colors, blush pinks, and sage green seems to be very popular this year and I’m all here for it! Normally I prefer a more subtle floral print, however, bold floral prints have been catching my eye lately as well. Bold floral prints are a huge trend this year, and there are so many cute styles out there.
The next thing I take into consideration when choosing a spring dress is the length.
Personally I love wearing maxi dresses during the spring season. I think they are darling and the length really seems to suit me best and they are practical for chasing my kids around. For others who are petite, maxi dresses may not always be the best option, so find the length that you feel suits you best and you feel confident in!
I also like to keep the weather into consideration when choosing a spring dress.
We live on the West coast where we have warm weather by spring for the most part. However, I know the weather can still be a little cold in other areas during spring. For this reason, it’s important to consider this when choosing your spring dress. However, you can always use layers as well which I will show you how to do in my next tip!
LAYERING FOR COLD WEATHER
My next tip on how to style a spring dress is layering for cold weather to keep warm and still look cute! Using layers when wearing dresses can be a really cute way to style them, especially during spring! One of my favorite ways to layer a spring dress is throwing on denim jackets. They are such a staple, and will definitely keep you warm. I also love the look of a leather jacket, they give a bit of an edge and really help elevate an outfit.
If the weather isn’t too cold and you are just looking for a little something to keep you covered up. Another great option would be to use a long sleeved white button down shirt over your dress. You could also opt for a light jacket as well for a more causally styled look.
SHOES TO WEAR
Choosing the right pair of shoes to go with any outfit in general is so crucial, but especially when wearing a dress. Some of my go-to shoes that I absolutely love styling with a spring dress are sneakers, ankle boots, sandals or mules. When choosing which shoes to pair with a dress, I like to consider the occasion, how well it will pair, and comfortability.
Ankle boots are super cute, and are a great way to elevate your entire look. They would be great for going out, or can even be worn for a more casual look as well.
One of my absolute favorite shoes I find myself pairing with dresses are white sneakers or neutral sneakers. They are so cute, give more of a relaxed casual look, while still looking chic and staying comfortable. They are so practical, especially for moms who are busy running around and chasing their kids all day.
Another great way to look casual but cute is a nice pair of sandals or mules. These are such a great option and really give a nice spring feel and complete your entire look. They can be very comfortable as well, and stylish.
HOW TO ACCESSORIZE
My last and favorite tip on how to style a spring dress is accessorizing your outfit. Jewelry, hats, belts, bags, all those great things! This is where you can really have some fun in styling your spring dress! If you follow me on Instagram (which you should!) you probably know I love wearing hats year round to accessorize my outfits. They are such a staple accessory, and I feel they really tie an outfit together.
Next, I choose the jewelry I want to wear for the day depending on the dress. For floral print dresses, I would choose dainty, classic pieces. Whereas for neutral solid colored dresses, I would probably opt for a little bit of a bolder statement piece. Another great accessory I think looks really great with dresses are belts! Belts help give some shape and accentuates your waist for a flattering look while also serving as a statement piece.
Last but not least is choosing your favorite bag for spring to pair with your outfit! A nice white bag, straw bag, or neutral colored bag would look so cute with absolutely anything as they are quite versatile and classic and will never go out of style.

There are endless options of shoes to pair with a white dress because it’s so neutral, so I chose to wear these beautiful floral sandals and I love how this outfit looks.
