One perk we have found from being forced to stay home is getting several home projects checked off our never ending list! And it feels so good completing them.
The first 3 or 4 weeks of quarantine we were constantly finding new projects to work on that we had put off for the 2 years that we have been living in our home. Curtains in the kids rooms being one of them. A few months ago we got custom Window Coverings from Barn and Willow for the kids bedrooms and we finally got them up and installed! I am obsessed with how they turned out, and of course wondering why it took me so long to do it.
Right now, until April 30th Barn and Willow is having their Spring Sale.

Barn and Willow Window Coverings
Having custom fit curtains from Barn and Willow in the kids rooms has made the biggest difference with the overall feel of their rooms all why serving a great purpose. Keeping their rooms cooler, darker, and cozy feeling. We measured the curtains to sit closer to the ceiling to make the room feel bigger. It really is amazing how the placement of the rod makes the entire room feel so much more bigger and complete.
We loved how easy it was to get our custom fit window coverings from Barn And Willow. Their website is so user friendly and makes the buying process so simple. My favorite feature was their helpful sizing guide. It helped t0 visualize the room with curtains before even getting them. Before ordering we were sure to get several fabric swatches to look and feel through to help decide what fabric tone would be for best for each room.
In Lucy’s room I wanted to find a cream/white tone fabric that would flow well with the rest of her room. When picking through the fabric swatches from Barn and Willow, I found the color Birch, which almost matched the glider chair in her room perfectly. I am so happy with how the color and overall look turned out. This Birch fabric is made out of Organic Cotton Drapery and is actually pretty thick and heavy. I just ordered some rings for the rod in hopes that it will slide a little easier. But still can’t get over the color of the window coverings.
In Edison’s room I wanted to keep it neutral, but stray away from whites and creams. I fell in love with Mist Gray. The fabric is Belgian Flax Linen and is super lightweight! I highly recommend this fabric choice and color. You can’t go wrong with any of the Linen fabric choices. The color compliments Edison’s room and decor perfectly. Our carpets in our bedrooms have a grey tone in them and they flow together nicely.
I wanted the window coverings in both of the bedrooms to be both casual and informal which is why I selected the soft tap option for the drapes. Another thing that I love about Barn and Willow is the 4 lining choices. We went with Privacy. I debated about doing blackout curtains in the kids rooms but opted not to. I don’t want my kids to only relay on falling asleep only when the room is dark. Luckily they both have been decent sleepers for both naps and nighttime.
