You keep asking — and we are excited to FINALLY share our Peloton Bike review.

This has been your most requested topic that I share with you over the last few months. I have had plans all along to share a his and her Peloton Bike review with both mine and Brandon’s thoughts including our pros and our cons on the static bike, but I really wanted to make sure we owned it long enough and took enough classes before sharing.

I wanted enough time to see if we saw results happen, see if we still love our Peloton bike even when “that new car smell ” is gone , and if it is something we still feel is worth investing in. Today, we are answering ALL your questions: who our favorite instructors are, our leaderboard names and more.

We have been using and riding the Peloton bike now for almost 6 months, which I feel is long enough to share our His and Per Peloton Bike Review. Continue on below to read more!

CAMILLA’S PELOTON BIKE REVIEW

Before owning a peloton, my only experience riding a stationary bike was back in college when I was on the school’s dance team. We had to wake up at 5:30 to go and do a spin class together. It was honestly brutal! I never found a love for biking, and really didn’t enjoy it at all. So when Brandon brought up the idea that he wanted to get a Peloton and asked if I would use it, my answer was “I don’t know, maybe?” Of course it had been several years since my experience with college, but what I didn’t know was that the peloton would be my main way to exercise for the last 4 months once the shelter at home was in place. I think we really bought ours right at the perfect time, but it really is never too late to join the peloton family if you have been considering it.

I have always had a love/hate relationship with the gym. It wasn’t until I started attending classes the gym offered that I started to really enjoy the gym again. I liked having an instructor to follow which helped keep me entertained with new daily exercises. (Which is very similar to how the Peloton workout classes are) Before taking classes at the gym, I would just lift weights and was getting a little bored with them.  After having Lucy, my goal was to make it back to the gym once she turned 6 months old, which is our gym day care’s age limit. However Lucy turned 6 months right around the winter and during the major sick/flu season. I put off taking her and waited a couple months, just as I was about ready to head back to the gym, the shelter in place restrictions were placed.

We received our Peloton bike the first part of January. I rode it only a few times and actually started to like it! It wasn’t until the end of February that I started to add it into my daily/weekly routine! I took my time and slowly and gradually built up my endurance. I took several beginner classes making sure I had good form, and understood the bike and the instructors lingo before really pushing myself. After about a month of doing beginner and 20 minute classes I finally felt like it was time to take a full 30 minute class! It sure wasn’t easy, but I could start to see why so many people loved the Peloton bike. After a few weeks of feeling confident on the bike, I made a goal to ride 5 days a week. I woke up every morning and rode the bike first thing. After those 5 days of consistently riding the bike, I really started to see strength in my body. My legs were feeling great, and I knew that having a peloton bike really is worth the investment.

HER PELOTON BIKE PROS

1// Great Exercise for Building Endurance
I have never had a great endurance strength. I danced my entire life and I only needed endurance to last 3-6 minutes for a dance routine. I am also someone who doesn’t enjoy running and major cardio days at the gym. But with the peloton I have already noticed a shift in my endurance and strength.

2// Super Convenient
I mean, how great is it that you can get an amazing workout in the comfort of your own home! Especially right now. We have loved having the chance to get a GOOD workout in from home.

3//  Opportunity to be competitive
I am not the most competitive person, but I do love having the opportunity to see my progress tracked along other people.  It does keep me pushing the full 30 minute ride.

4// Follow along with friends and family
You can follow along, my username is CamillaRose. I love that I can do the same rides as family and friends, or even schedule a ride to do together. It is super motivating.

5// Great Music Genre’s
Each instructor seems to have a favorite genre, but what I love is that each ride is never boring. With so many types of music, your rides are different each day. I also love that you can search some of your favorite artists and you can choose from rides that feature your favorites.

6// Several Instructors
Some of these instructors aren’t for everyone. I have a few favorites that I prefer and loving riding with and others who I am not a huge fan of. I am sharing my favorite instructors below!

7// Every Day is a new experience
Like I mentioned before I started to really find a love for the gym when I started to take classes. I really think it was because I was constantly trying new things and having a new experience. On the Peloton, each day feels new. With new music, new instructors, and new styles of rides I don’t get board.

HER PELOTON BIKE CONS

1// Heart Rate Monitor doesn’t always connect or work well
My alternative to this is wearing my Apple watch. My watch will track my heart rate for me and does a more accurate job.

2// Squeaky Clips
Maybe this is just our bike, but there is a small squeak when we are standing or running on the bike. I don’t notice it too much because I generally wear my AirPods, but if I don’t have them in it does drive me a little nuts.

BRANDON’S PELOTON BIKE REVIEW:

I am not someone who is big into cycling or road biking, but I was interested in the idea of a Peloton to help me loose more weight. I had a few people I talked to who had a Peloton bike and they always said how much they liked it. The other reason I was interested in the Peloton is to save time in my day. Between the commute to and from the gym I could easy take 2 -2.5 hours just going to the gym. The peloton has done really good job at providing a way to get in a quick workout that is also very effective.  The Peloton has helped me significantly with my weight-loss goals. Between consistently riding the bike daily and eating better I am down 48 pounds!

Starting to use the Peloton was easy, the instructors are really good. There is new live classes daily. But one of the main things I really like is tracking your performance and competing with others in each class. I am able to see for a 30 minute ride what my best output is, and see if I can beat it the next time I ride.  I also love the opportunity to compete with friends I follow and other people who are taking the class. I feel like Peloton has taken the element of Crossfit competition of each class to the bike. Where you look at the workout and you always want to do better or improve yourself, or at least make sure you aren’t the last person in the class.

I have seen noticeable improvements in my endurance and body fat in my legs. I feel like after 5 months I have definitely  lost body fat and feel significantly more in shape.

The reason I got interested in the peloton is one of my friends who has a very large home gym with tens of thousands of dollars in exercise equipment says the Peloton was his best purchase out of all the equipment he has bought. And although I haven’t bought tens of thousands dollars of workout equipment I would say I love my Peloton and would highly recommend it to anyone.

HIS PELOTON BIKE PROS

1// Burn More Calories
I am pleasantly surprised at how much I sweat in a 30 minute bike ride and how many calories I end up burning. I usually burn 400-500 calories in a 30 minute workout.

2// Fresh Content
It’s great having new content daily for both biking and weight lifting and all other types of classes. There is new classes daily

3// More Than just the Bike
Peloton also offers classes and exercises in bodyweight fitness, yoga, stretching, meditation, cardio, running, walking, and bootcamp.

4// Quality of the bike
The quality of the Peloton is awesome and is very heavy and sturdy. I also really like the high definition large screen that is unique to a stationary bike.

5// Tracks Progress and Milestones
I love being able to track my progress and milestones and achievements. It sure feels good when you finally hit 100 rides

6// Feels like a community
With the Peloton Community/Family you really feel supported and not just on your own.  You can receive or give “high fives” to the people in the community when you complete an achievement or a milestone. You can befriend people and see how they are doing and track their progress all while do the same rides together. Feels like you aren’t just riding on your own.

7// Keep Working Out When Traveling
With the Peloton iPhone App, You can still have access to all the Peloton classes like running, weight lifting, stretching and more while you are away from home.

HIS PELOTON BIKE CONS

1// Cost of Bike
It definitely is a big ticket item to buy especially if you haven’t used one before. That was my biggest fear of buying the bike and stop using it after a couple of months. But I have used it almost every day and love it. I feel like it has been worth the money

2// Monthly Membership is Costly
After $2,000 you still have to spend $40 a month in the membership. But, Peloton has the best content I have ever seen out of any fitness, and not just for the bike itself.

3// Heart Rate Monitor
Peloton makes a great product, but the only thing I haven’t been impressed with is the Heart Rate Monitor. I would recommend using another brand that is compatible with Peloton, or your apple watch. The flaw I have seen in the heart rate monitor is that it will connect and disconnect throughout your ride which doesn’t give accurate results.

Camilla’s Favorite Peloton Bike Instructors:

Alex Toussaint – Alex really pushes me! I know that if I am starting one of his 30 minute classes I am going to get a great workout in. He has a great way of keeping me motivated and pushes me all the way to the end.

Cody Rigsby – I am always laughing during Cody’s ride. He has a great personality and honestly makes every ride so much fun!

Ally Love – I have always loved Ally from day 1! She has such a calming voice and she also is great at keeping my endurance up. She always has great messages during each rides, and has a weekly Sundays with Love ride that always have a key message that is uplifting

Ben Alldis – Ben is more chill and relaxed. I like to ride with him when I am not super motivated to ride.

Emma Lovewell – I love Emma for both the bike rides and core strength. She has a 4 week core program that I do over and over again. They are the best workouts!

Hannah Marie Corbin – Hannah was one of my favorites when I first started. She does a great job at reminding you to relax your shoulders, breathe, and fix your posture. She is super cute too!

Leanne Hainsby – I think Leanne is adorable, her accent is so cute too! I don’t feel like she pushes me like Alex Toussaint, but I love riding her on days I am in a hurry or unmotivated.

Brandon’s Favorite Peloton Bike Instructors:

Ally Love ,Emma Lovewell  and Alex Toussaint

With all three instructors I enjoy their pace, motivation and don’t feel like they are over the top or cheesy.

Did you ever figure out the squeaky clip issue? Mine does it too and it drives me nuts! I’ve tried loosening and tightening the clips and I can’t figure it out!
