HAT GUIDE: WHERE TO SHOP FOR FALL HATS

I’m going to go ahead and say it, I’m a hat girl!
I started wearing hats about 5 years ago and really feel like my style isn’t complete without them. Over the years I have tried wearing all kinds of hats from large brim, floppy hats, fedoras, straw hats, ball caps and more. Today I wanted to share the trusted places where I shop for cute fall hats.

I am constantly getting messages from readers where I like to shop for hats , it seems like those who ask are like me, and need a more specific hat to fit their smaller heads. That has always been a struggle for me, finding brands that aren’t just the “one size” hats. Which is very common. I have had to search high and low to find fall hats that are offered in sizes. From XS – XL and everything in between.

When it comes down to shopping for the right kind of hat, I have found that I am pretty specific about what kind of hats look best on me. If you pay close attention, you will notice that I prefer a fedora, stiff brim type of hat. The great part about that, is that there are so many amazing brands that offer the type of hat I love to wear.

See below to see where I shop for cute fall hats and links to all my favorite hats.

WHERE I LOVE TO SHOP FOR CUTE FALL HATS

LACK OF COLOR

This is a fairly newer brand I started to shop from and I personally love each one I have. For starters They come in different sizes to fit everyones needs. They are made it great quality and really hold up nicely. The two hats that I have are both wide brimmed, which are really fun. Both hats I tend to wear often, but I wouldn’t consider them an “everyday” easy to wear hat.

GIGI PIP

My newest brand I have ordered from and is easily my favorite at the moment. What I love most about these hats is how convenient they are. I have 1 hat, and just ordered 2 more! I personally feel like the Rancher hat is a great everyday, easy to wear, hat. You can throw it on without having to plan where you are going, if it will be windy etc. These hats are the ones I throw on if I haven’t washed my hair in a few days. They are simple and a lot of fun too.  One of my favorite things about GIGI PIP is the adjustable inner band. It’s a major game changer, especially if you are like me and have a smaller head. You can pull the strings tighter to make the hat fit your specific head perfectly!

BRIXTON

I have loved and worn Brixton hats throughout the years. They offer so a wide variety of  different styles to choose from and are in a great price range.

NORDSTROM

I will generally hop on Nordstrom’s website when shopping for new hats because they carry a lot of great brands, that I love to shop. It can be a hit or miss, but I love searching for the Halogen brand, which always has an adjustable inner band that you can adjust to fit your head.

JANESSA LEONE

This is one brand that I don’t personally own, yet! However I feel that Janessa Leone’s hats are my style. I just need to pull the trigger and try them out. Out of all the brands I have listed, this one is in the higher price range.

FAVORITE FALL HATS I OWN

Monroe Hat – I got this hat first in the Oatmeal color, loved it so much that I just ordered (this week!) the same styled hat in black. Just patiently waiting for it to arrive. As I mentioned earlier, this is my everyday “go-to” hat. It’s easy to style and can be worn both dressy and super casual. I got both in size XS (55cm)

Straw Hat with Chin Strap – Just ordered this hat for an upcoming warm trip we have in December. I can’t even tell you how excited I am to strap this hat under my chin to keep on while at the beach! Major game changer. I ended up getting the Aiden Natural color. I got this in the smallest S/M size 57cm.

Cream Wide Brim Boater – My first Lack of Color hat I bought and just fell in love with the brand. The quality is unreal good. I have this in the Sierra in Gold size 55cm.

Rancher Hat – This is another Lack of Color hat, and the color is such a great neutral to wear all year long. It does have a more Spring, Fall and winter vibe to it, as my personal opinion. But the fit and oversized brim that curves down toward your face makes it super feminine. I have this one in Brown in the size 55cm.

MY FAVORITE HAT TRICK

I have shared this hat trick several times on my Instagram Stories, but I wanted to share here since I know it has been super helpful to so many of you.

If you end up buying a hat that is still just too big for you head, DON’T EVEN FRET!! The best and easiest thing you can do is pick up some Seal Foam Tape from Home Depot, or I just order it on Amazon HERE. You simply measure around the liner of your hat (where your head fits) then cut the foam to fit. There will be a flap that you unfold on the hat where you’ll attach the sticky side of the Seal Foam Tape inside. Fold back the flap and press the foam firmly.

That is it people!! It is a major game changer and super inexpensive way to still wear all of your favorite cute fall hats that are just a little bit too big for your head.
