I still am having a hard time believing that Edison is one! Time really REALLY needs to slow down, I would be more than okay with that and I am sure I am not the only one who feels that way.
His little party had such a good turn out and I am so happy with out it went.
Of course he had been fussy all morning, which was so sad! But I am certain that he is teething due to his loss of appetite the previous few days, runny nose, and diarrhea. We may or may not have given him some Tylenol before the party!!! We wanted him happy.
It was actually pretty hilarious because I had thought it would be so fun to take blown up balloons and throw into his crib while singing to him. So of course that didn’t go as planned! He woke up crying, we decided to give it a go anyways. Well, he just lost it as we threw the balloons into the crib. He gave us the saddest face and kept on crying has he buried his face into the bars of his crib.
My dad put it a good way, “It’s my birthday, and I will cry if I want to”. He couldn’t have been any more accurate!!!!
It was probably the cutest though as soon as Edison’s little party guests started to arrive, he became alive! He instantly had so much energy and didn’t need mama anymore. He was happy to be down playing and crawling or walking around! He loved watching the older kids and of course played with everyone. I love watching him interact and learn from other kids!
We all sang happy birthday to him and he LOVED it!! Of course was a little bit shy at first but then soaked it all in. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with the cake in front of him, but sure wanted to grab onto the burning candle. We are pretty sure he loved the attention from 30 people staring at him. Because one people started wondering off he started to cry! “come back and watch me eat cake!!! ”
After cake he opened presents and loved every minute of it. From playing with the tissue paper, pulling the presents out of their bags, to playing with the trucks wheels, and everything in between. It was so fun for him.
Let’s just say he sure got spoiled!!
We were so lucky to have so many friends and family come and support us in celebrating Edison!
Can’t wait for next year!
