It’s time I finally share more about our home and answer the FAQ’s we have had along the way!
For those of you who are newer, a quick back story, we bought our first home in California in May and have been so excited to share this fun renovation journey with you!
I have been getting several questions about our remodel and what paint colors, floors, tiles etc we decided to do. So today I wanted to break down all of these FAQ’s and answer them for you.
We officially moved into our home in the middle of July and were basically living in a construction site. It’s now mid August and the tile project was just completed. We still have so much to do on the home, but it is live-able and we are happy to be living here and working on it along the way.

Dishwasher – Kitchen Aid – This dishwasher is the best one I have ever ever used. It stores so much, but my favorite part is the Bottle wash option. It has specific spouts that spray right into bottles and sippy cups. I also love that you can change the height of the top drawer for larger dish-ware underneath or vise versa.

When we bought our home we decided it would be the smartest and most important decision to higher a designer. We have never built or remodeled a home before and knew we would have several design questions a long the way. We were referred around a few times and finally came into contact with the girls at North County Tile and Stone here in Escondido, CA. That is when we met Barbara and decided to hire her on as our designer. She has been so helpful along the way answering all of our questions, concerns etc. She helped us finalize paint, tile, flooring, kitchen design, lighting and so much more. All of these designs are what she drafted up so we could get a more visual idea of each space. Of course some of these spaces have changed a little bit, but it was all so very helpful in the long run. You can find Barbara here @matzke_interiors and @northcountytileandstone
