Happy Halloween!!
What an year! I went from honestly debating if we should even dress up this year, to basically planning 5 costumes 🙂 Go figure!
I am SO glad we decided to just go for it, without really knowing how Halloween was going to be this year. Regardless of COVID and all the strange rules happening, we made the best of it and celebrated all month long! Today you can find all our Family Halloween Costumes for 2020 and even a throwback to last year’s family costume!
Believe it or not, our Lion King costumes had been planned since January thanks to Edison. He mentioned the idea one day after watching the Lion King movie. I of course immediately started to browse Pinterest for ideas and knew we had to do it. A few times a month, Edison would bring it up again and again so he was still stuck on the idea of dressing up as Simba, which I loved and which Brandon secretly loved to. Fun fact about Brandon is his love for the Lion King runs deep. He can quote most of the movie and sing every single song! Edison requested that I would dress up as Scar, or “scarf” as he likes to call him. (I can’t correct him, it’s too cute) As a family we came up with Rafiki, Zazu, and Pumbaa for Brandon, Lucy and Boss and I love how it turned out.
My friend Bri from @minivoyager_ and I had gone to dinner one night and got carried away looking for halloween costume ideas. That is when we had the bright idea to dress Lucy and Henry (who are only 3 weeks apart) in a matching costumes. We clearly couldn’t narrow it down to one, so naturally we picked 3. I’ll tell you, it was very difficult to narrow our choices down to only 3. So come next year, we happily plan to continue the tradition.
For the record, Edison did have another costume, a fireman, his choice. We bought it and he wore it one time! I kept asking him if he wanted to wear it to school or on actual halloween tonight, but he kept insisting on wearing the Lion costume. He genuinely loved being a lion, and loved having a lion face painted on. He would worry all day if his makeup was coming off! To my surprise, it stayed put really well.

BOO FROM MONSTERS INC.
With pigtails like her, how could I not. Every time I looked at her, I always thought she looked like Boo from Monsters Inc. Really kind of sad I didn’t order Edison a Sully costume. We will have to reenact it again another year.

LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY
Swim at your own risk!!! This is by far my favorite costume we did on Henry and Lucy. Henry was so into character, and surprisingly easy to take photos of them. I thought it would be a complete disaster considering we were at the beach where they naturally play and get dirty within seconds. But to our surprise, they nailed it.

RAINBOW AND RAIN CLOUD
When the rainbow always “steals the thunder” from the rain cloud! If you know Lucy and you know Henry, you would know just how fitting these costumes are to their cute personalities. Lucy is always so happy, smiling, and welcoming of everyone. Henry is such a mamas boy, who gets so sad whenever she steps away, he doesn’t like to share food, and just has the cutest grumpy face! These costumes couldn’t have been more perfect. But taking these photos could have gone a lot better 🙂 We tried on two different days to get the perfect shot. I think we finally achieved it.

CUTEST PUMPKINS IN THE PATCH
So original, and so classic!
But how could we not. When in doubt buy your baby a pumpkin costume. These two kept these cute hats on almost the entire time and Lucy really got into character, always cheesing it up!
