I’m feeling like I’ve finally got that little groove in motherhood again!! It took me roughly 3-4 months to really adjust to the newborn phase and to feel more comfortable and confident getting out and about with not just one, but TWO children. Since we are constantly on the go these days, I wanted to share my Diaper Bag Essentials for newborn babies, toddlers, and mamas!
All of these items I am sharing about as part of my diaper bag essentials round up, is everything I pulled out of my exact diaper bag. It goes to say, that all of these items are what I can’t leave the house without for Lucy, Edison, and of course myself.
Over the past 3 years I have been a mom, I have found a few diaper bags that I love and trust. You can read my Diaper Bag Review HERE
Diaper Bag Essentials
1- Pacifier – Heaven for bid if you leave the house without an extra pacifier, am I right mamas!!! I am sure we have all been there, or at least dread the thought of it happening! I generally have one attached to the carseat, and pack an extra in the diaper bag just in case.
3- Skip Hop Plush Unicorn Rattle – We just recently started introducing toys to Lucy, especially being on the go when she is in the high chair. Love that I can attach this one to the carseat handle. Plus it’s a great size and not too big.
4- Infant Nail Clipper – I have always packed these in my diaper bag. If it’s not Edison having a hangnail, or Lucy having ridiculous long nails that claw me while I am feeding, it’s me needing to cut a string or perhaps my own nails.
5- Diapers – We have loved and always used Huggies for both kids
6- Gathre Changing Pad – I love this brand and love how small their changing pads fold up. Plus, the fact that they are cute is a bonus!
7- Plush Bunny Rattle Toy – I love this toy because it’s easy to grasp and is so soft and fuzzy
8- Gripe Water – I never leave the house without gripe water especially during that newborn phase. Being outdoors my babies always swallow so much air. I love giving them this to help release those gas and tummy troubles
9- Swaddle – How multipurpose is a swaddle right? Use it for the standard of swaddling or wrapping baby to keep warm. But having an extra burp cloth or a place to lie down your baby are extras which is why we always have one with us!
10- Bonnet/hat – Depending on the gender of your baby, I love having a bonnet or hat with us at all times. Those temperatures can drop and I hate the thought of my baby being cold.
11- Pacifier Wipes – Not totally necessary. I think a normal wipe is just as good! But I got this pack when Lucy was a newborn and we still haven’t gone through it!
12- Extra Set of Clothing – A major must have!! I can’t tell you how many times Lucy has had a blow out while we are out and about. Thankfully, I have always had an extra outfit to change her into. But I know I will probably forget one of these days 🙂
13- Socks – Same reasons apply like the bonnet and hat! I would hate to not be prepared when the weather cools off.
14- Solly Baby Wrap – What I love is that it is small enough to fit inside my diaper bag. I love the convenience of the Solly wrap to give your hands a break while being on the go.
1- Travel Snack Container – We love this specific snack container, but any will do!
2- Snacks – We love packing finding snacks that have individual packets for on the go!
3- Babyganics Hand Sanitizing Wipes – I have used these for years! Great for doing a quick wash of hands and tables before eating.
4- Pack of Stickers – Any busy activity will do. Edison loves stickers at the moment
5- Water Wow! – Another great activity to keep them busy in the stroller or restaurant
6- Toy Cars – A classic! I would be in big trouble if I didn’t have 4 of these in my diaper bag!!
7- Monster Truck Toy – Having back ups of you kids favorite toys is key to a happy kid on the go!
1- Freshly Picked Diaper Bag – I swap out my diaper bags on a regular basis. But this Freshly Picked Diaper bag is the one I am currently loving. It is one of my favorite bags on the market. You can read my Diaper Bag Review HERE
2- Honest Hand Sanitizer Spray – I have this in the stroller, diaper bag, and my car! I love how easy it is to use and that I can use it on Edison too!
3- Lipstick and Liner – Can’t leave the house with out having a back up lipstick 🙂
4- Wallet – For obvious reason. I personally have a small one, very similar to this one. It fits great in the front zipper of most of the diaper bags I use
5- Tylenol – I being anywhere without Tylenol. As silly as it sounds, I don’t even use it often. But it seems that if I were to leave it at home, chances are I would need it!
