I recently had the thought the other day that I want to try new things this year. Especially when it comes to fashion and beauty and life! I feel like each 7 of these things are very doable and something I can do and stick with, or of course find something else I love. Keep reading to see what I will be trying this year.
7 Trends I am trying this year!!
WEAR MORE SNEAKERS
I am actually going to title this as “wear more mom clothes” I have decided that I want to start buying more sneakers to sort of force me to wear more mama style outfits. The reason I say this is because I tend to wear a lot of boots with a 1-2 inch heel, or clothes I feel like I can’t feel 100% free in. But as a mom of a toddler I am learning that I need to be wearing clothes that I can say “Hey, let’s go to the park, Let’s go to the beach, Let’s go on a little hike” whatever it may be, I want to be dressed appropriately for what that day has in store, but better yet, the unplanned fun activities we will throw in last minute!
Here is some sneakers I plan on adding to my collection this year.
EMBRACING THE PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR – PURPLE
I feel like I have already been trying this trend. But I want to expand my clothing and accessories options. Maybe trying some fun heels, or other shoes. Maybe a handbag too! Is purple a color that suits you?

WEARING MORE JUMPSUITS
I love me a good jumpsuit! But I decided I am going to really go out of my way this year to find really good ones and a lot of them too! The thing about jumpsuits is that they are 100% easy! Maybe not going to the bathroom 😉 But.. when it comes to dressing yourself in the morning it takes zero effort. You don’t have to overthink your outfit because it’s basically done for you with a jumpsuit. Another reason I plan to wear more jumpsuits is for my other reason above. Wearing more sneakers. I feel like they go hand in hand. Sneakers compliment jumpsuits and jumpsuits compliments sneakers.

Just gave this a try this week!! I was so excited to finally try something new with my hair. I haven’t really changed my hair in about 4 years. Of course I have updated the color and given it a fresh up. But overall remained the same color.
I’ll be honest, I am not 100% sold on the bangs yet. I still feel like I don’t know how to style them and feel like they need to be trained on how to lay right. So give me a week or so and I think I will really like them. They are just super different from what I am used to, especially being someone who has never had bangs before.

I recently starting doing this trend a little bit last fall. But I am all about it this year. I think it is such a fun way to add a little bit of pop to any outfit. Rather it be a simple large hoop, or a fun star pattern, or pop of color. I love how it makes a difference with your outfit.

MORE NATURAL LOOKING MAKING
This is something I am already doing, but want to continue doing. If you would have asked me 3 years ago about how I felt about natural makeup, I would have said “Other people can pull it off, but I can’t!” However, I decided to just try it. Of course I still love makeup and will wear it daily, just more on the natural side. So, what is different in my routine. Not much. Basically going a lot lighter and more natural on my eyes. I still will continue to wear MaskCara Beauty, so basically foundation, contour, and blush. Filled in eyebrows and of course my eye lash extensions. Some days I will wear light eyeshadow, but a lot of days I just embrace only the eye lash extensions with my Maskcara makeup on!

Again, something I tried this year. But this year I want to take it to the next level. I want to invest in a small designer belt bag this year. I love the trend and really actually think it makes sense being a mom. I love having my hands free. I of course love a good cross body. But sometimes they can get in the way, fall off your shoulder while bending down. but with a belt bag it stays put. Another reason I think it makes the most sense with being a mom, is that you can still carry a chic handbag as well as your diaper bag. I love that I would have a place to put my phone, especially if I am wearing something without pockets. There is nothing worse, right!!
