You guessed it! We are pregnant and having another baby!
We honestly couldn’t be more thrilled and have been dying to share the news with you all.
I wanted to share a fun little post today about how I have been feeling this first trimester, how I told Brandon and our families, if we are finding out the gender, the expected due date and more.
But first, I just wanted to say I am so excited to be able to do this journey again and have so many of you following along. Motherhood and pregnancy is a real, hard, emotional roller coaster and I couldn’t do it without the help of so many of you. So get ready to help me even more this next year. It’s funny how much you forget about pregnancy do’s and don’ts etc even though you have gone through it all before.
How I announced to Brandon
So I feel the the timing of me first finding out I was pregnant could not have been more perfect. It was two days prior to us having our family photos taken. The idea came to me that I wanted to surprise and tell Brandon during the photos. So I texted Gabe from Gabriel Conover Photo who took our photos and told him the plan. He was super excited to help me announce to Brandon. The plan was this. We finish our photos, but Gabe had agreed that it would be okay to shoot one last “campaign item” for Edison. I had told Brandon is was a t-shirt company 🙂 I made sure to tell Gabe to do whatever he could to keep Brandon in front of the camera and to distract him away from Edison, incase he ran away and I wasn’t quiet ready. I would say he did a good job. So, seconds after I put on Edison’s shirt that says “#1 Big Brother” without fail, he ran around and moments later Brandon took a glimpse of Edison’s shirt and what it said. He then looked at me and said “Really??” Obviously so shocked!
So these next few photos are Brandon’s reaction in order.
I am so happy we were able to surprise Brandon this way since apparently last time I didn’t do a good job at “surprising” him he says. haha let’s just say my little plan didn’t work and he didn’t understand what I was trying to say or do!
I think he ‘got it’ this time, don’t you?!!!
So I do have to back up a little bit prior to these photos. Pretty much 1 month earlier. I had mistakenly read a pregnancy test wrong and thought I was pregnant. Oops.. my bad! How does that even happen. I went on 4 days thinking I was pregnant. I may just want to blame it on Clear Blue, their tests are deceiving! I felt like the biggest idiot!! However, that was when I had gone and made the shirt for Edison so I did have it on hand for this time when I was actually pregnant.
We ended up telling most of our family the same way, with the #1 Big Brother tee. Anyone who came to visit us got a little Surprise! It was so much fun because we were able to record their reactions.
How far along are you?
As of right now I am 13 weeks along!
Our due date is on June 13th! So Summer baby!
Such a fun time to bring a baby into this world. I am especially grateful I don’t have to be pregnant and huge then entire summer. So thankfully it is right at the beginning.
Now I bring up the very sore subject of morning sickness.
I consider myself to be SO blessed and extremely lucky because I, unlike so many of you amazing mamas who deal with morning sickness every pregnancy. I have not had or gotten the regular pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness, throwing up etc. So I praise all you mamas who deal with morning sickness while running after a toddler.
I have had my days where I have feel icky, and just not myself. I am extremely tired ALL THE TIME. Come 7 or 8 pm at night. My mind starts to become super foggy and I can’t function as well. As a result I have been going to bed almost every night at 9 or 9:30!
The other major pregnancy symptoms is lack of motivation. I remember having this with Edison too until the second trimester started. There was a good 2 week streak where I was a little lazy or not as active on my blog with posting 4-5 times a week and even on my IG going an entire day not sharing anything with you guys. I feel like the lack of motivation is getting better and I have been able to get back into a routine. It’s either that or, I had no choice with such a busy work schedule with all the holidays we have had or about to have!
Will we be finding out the gender?
Answer to that is YES!!!!
I have an ultra sound scheduled in Mid January. So we will be waiting to share until then!
However we haven’t decided if we want to do a gender reveal party, or just find out at the doctors office like we did with Edison.
I will say, I do have a pretty strong mother’s instinct of what I am having.. but I will remain hush hush until January!
Just wanted to thank you guys again for coming to my site to read about our little new journey!
We are so excited for this fun new chapter in our lives and having a second child.
We know it will be a busy busy time, hard, challenging, as well as special.
So thank you for following along!
