What a year it has been and I am so thankful to have so many of you mamas supporting me in 2017! I am beyond excited to be starting 2018 and can’t wait for what this year will bring! Lots of amazing and big things coming your way!
Today for my Mom Talk Monday I wanted to ask you mamas opinion on how to quit breastfeeding?
Edison is now 14 months and I had a goal to breastfeed till his first birthday. I am so happy that I made it that long. I can’t say it was an easy journey, but a time I will always cherish! If you are a new mama, don’t give up on those hard days. I promise it is worth it!
iI did go over the year mark by two months, by choice. I wanted to wait until after Italy, then Christmas came, and I knew we would be away home for awhile. I felt the adjustment would be best once we were home for good. Well at least for awhile!!
I will probably begin the journey as soon as we are back to our healthy selves again, but I am ready to hear all of your thoughts and advice!
To be honest I don’t think the adjustment is going to be as hard for him as it will be for me. I have found that I nurse him when I am tired, lazy, or just in public to calm him down. When I don’t have that “out” anymore, it sort of freaks me out!! So I think the 5 am wake up calls will be extra brutal when I can’t whip out the boob and go back to sleep!
As for Edison he is currently breastfeeding 2-4 times a day. Stopping the day time feeds I don’t think will be a problem. There has been days that I only feed morning and night!
So the worst will be the nighttime feeding right before bed. He generally falls asleep at the breat and I lay him down. So I would love any advice here!
Lastly, once I start weaning I know Whole Milk is the best to give them? Yes? No?
What else do you suggest?
Also, its probably best to just quit all bottles at once, yes?
Guys, I’m totally clueless here!
So if I keep bottles, no problem. But if switching to sippy cups is the right way to go, which brand do you suggest?
Cant wait to hear all your responses!
